I spent thirty-five years with the FAA as an air traffic controller at enroute centers, six of them as a supervisor. In that job you do not get to guess. You have a scope in front of you, numbers on the aircraft, and a rule about how much room has to stay between them. You make the call, you make it early, and you make it right the first time.
When I retired I earned my Class A CDL, because I wanted to see the freight world from inside the truck instead of reading about it. What I found surprised me. Drivers were making four-figure decisions in twenty seconds on a phone in a fuel island parking lot. The rate looked fine. The miles looked fine. Nobody was counting the empty run to the pickup, the fuel at the price they actually pay, or what the truck costs to turn a wheel.
In the tower, we would never have accepted that. Every decision had numbers under it and a second set of eyes on it. In freight, the person making the decision usually has neither, and the broker on the other end of the line has both.
That is the gap TSFI exists to close. Put the load in, get a score, get one of three verdicts — TAKE IT, NEGOTIATE, or WALK AWAY — and get the counter-rate that makes it worth taking. No jargon, no dashboard you have to learn, no card required to try it.
I called the assistant Atlas and the saved-load area The Tower on purpose. This is not a spreadsheet with a logo. It is a controller watching your profit while you watch the road.
The mathematics degree helps. The CDL helps more. Thirty-five years of being told the standard is right the first time is what actually built this product.
